A DREAM I HAD
Run faster little man
The world is old and ending
The car ahead, your quarry
It's speed too great for legs
*
Drop to all fours strange man
Leap and bound to catch your pray
Run like beasts from times now past
Fabled cats of monstrous size
*
You are too late old man
The car is fast and gone
What life you had is spent and o'er
Lie in dust entombed in failure
*
A train is coming sleepy man
It rumbles on its way
Too high for you to reach and ride
You sit and watch it pass
*
